The Prepared Meal and Rotisserie Chicken Associate role at Sam's Club is a vital position responsible for preparing fresh food items daily that meet high-quality standards and member expectations. This position requires someone who is passionate about fresh food, enjoys following recipes, and is highly organized. The associate will prepare warm and ready rotisserie chickens, wrap and label merchandise properly, and ensure that all products on display are fresh and comply with safety and quality standards. The role also demands multitasking skills, as associates may need to assist members with bakery orders and maintain a clean, sanitized, and attractive sales floor. In addition to food preparation, the associate will be expected to maintain knowledge about product specifications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and educate fellow associates about tools and resources. The role includes maintaining inventory, monitoring expiration dates, rotating merchandise, disposing of less-than-perfect products, and ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and cold chain standards. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to complete job-required trainings and assessments in prescribed time
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to food preparation
- Compliance with company policies regarding a drug-free workplace
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in fresh food preparation or food service
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and multitask efficiently
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with digital tools and technology in a retail setting
- Customer service experience is preferred
Job Duties
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications related to prepared food merchandise
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources
- Prepare food according to item specifications and adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement
- Ensure high-quality products are available by managing inventory, temperature control, and expiration dates
