Job Description
Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to transforming the lives of youth in the community by providing enriching programs and a supportive environment. Located in Fort Pierce, Florida, this establishment emphasizes creating a world-class club experience that fosters personal growth, development, and opportunity for every child and teenager who walks through its doors. The organization serves as a safe haven and a platform where youth can build skills, engage in healthy activities, and gain the encouragement needed to look forward to a great future. Offering meaningful programs centered around education, recreation, and life skills, the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County is recognized for its commitment to cultivating positive outcomes for young people in the area.
The Food Delivery Driver role is integral to the organization’s mission, acting as the logistical backbone in ensuring that nutritious, prepared meals reach the various club locations on schedule. This position offers an hourly wage of $15 and up to 40 hours per week in a non-exempt capacity, reporting directly to the Executive Chef. The Food Delivery Driver is entrusted with the responsibility of safely and efficiently transporting meals from the Westside Club kitchen to multiple Boys & Girls Club sites within the county. Beyond simple delivery, the driver plays a key role in maintaining the vehicle and food dispensing equipment, verifying orders, and supporting the cleanliness and sanitation of food service areas. The position demands a professional attitude toward employees and members of the community, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently.
In addition to meal transportation, this role also includes food truck responsibilities such as driving a 35-foot food truck and associated trailer to events and catering locations, managing setup and breakdown of the trailer, and aiding with food service operations on the truck. The role and work environment are dynamic and fast-paced, often requiring participation in special events during evenings or weekends, reflecting the flexible and community-oriented nature of the organization. The Food Delivery Driver must also be capable of adhering to safety policies, reporting concerns to supervisors, and assisting with documentation related to transport and food service.
The working conditions range from office settings to multiple clubhouses strategically placed in areas where youth are most in need, necessitating a flexible schedule and readiness to work at different locations. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged periods of standing, walking, or sitting, and safe operation of vehicles. The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County is committed to diversity and equal opportunity employment, maintaining a smoke, drug, and alcohol-free workplace where each employee’s contributions are valued.
This position provides a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about service, community engagement, and youth development to contribute meaningfully in a role that combines operational excellence with hands-on support for a worthy cause. As part of the team, the Food Delivery Driver helps ensure that youth in St. Lucie County have access to the nourishing meals they need to thrive, while also supporting a variety of educational and recreational programs offered by the Boys & Girls Clubs.
