The Food Attendant role at Aramark is vital in maintaining the quality, safety, and presentation of all food prepared and served. Working closely with management, the Food Attendant supports meal preparation, tracks cash receipts, and accurately maintains meal records while ensuring food production and sanitary standards are met. Food Attendants contribute to customer satisfaction by preparing delicious meals and pastries according to planned menus and by enhancing dish presentation with decorative garnishes to make meals visually appealing.

A key responsibility includes the precise storage of food to maintain freshness and integrity, as well as effective use and upkeep of kitchen tools, particularly knives. The role involves monitoring and regulating food temperatures to adhere to safety standards and coordinating closely with the manager daily to accurately interpret and prepare the menu. Maintaining a clean and hygienic workspace is essential, including regular cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, cooking utensils, steam tables, and ensuring garbage collection sites and kitchen floors are sanitary.

Moreover, Food Attendants are expected to demonstrate punctuality and reliability in preparing a diverse selection of foods and beverages promptly. The role entails physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking for extended periods, requiring the compliance with dress regulations and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to lift, bend, push, pull, stand and walk for extended periods
  • compliance with dress code and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • prior experience in food preparation or food service preferred
  • willingness to perform various kitchen duties
  • commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards

Job Duties

  • Cook and bake excellent food and pastries in accordance with a planned menu
  • prepare a report to validate daily transactions and confirm meal preparations

  • offer food service to customers following meal schedules and procedures
  • effectively use and upkeep culinary implements, especially knives

  • assist in tidying refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving tools
  • adhere strictly to food safety regulations including cleanliness, proper handling, and storage
  • comply with prescribed uniform standards
  • coordinate daily with manager to interpret and prepare the daily menu accurately
  • regulate food temperature to ensure safety protocols
  • maintain a neat and well-managed workspace
  • implement proper sanitation methods for work areas and equipment
  • perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and washing wares
  • keep garbage collection locations and kitchen floors tidy and sanitary
  • execute additional kitchen-related duties as assigned
