The position is considered exempt and falls under Salary Grade 3 within the district’s classification system.
Beyond operational oversight, the Food Service - Field Supervisor promotes nutritional habits among students by expanding food service programs and organizing special events. They are accountable for the procurement of supplies within budget constraints and for providing timely, documented reports to the district and regulatory bodies. This role requires flexibility and the ability to handle emergency situations related to food quality, safety, and staffing, embracing a proactive approach to problem-solving.
This role necessitates multi-tasking and strong management skills as it involves directing personnel schedules, performance evaluations, and training programs to maximize productivity. The position demands excellent communication abilities to work with a diverse team and engage effectively with school principals, staff, and external agencies. Technical skills are required to operate office equipment, manage software systems such as the Schoolhouse POS program, and maintain accurate records.
