Target Corporation is a prominent American retail company known for its wide range of products, competitive prices, and a keen focus on enhancing the customer shopping experience. It operates as a general merchandise retailer with stores located throughout the United States, providing diverse product categories including food and beverage, household essentials, apparel, electronics, and much more. Target is committed to support and care for its team members by offering competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a culture that values inclusivity, safety, and development opportunities. The Food & Beverage department at Target plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, ensuring availability, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. This department is dedicated to operational excellence, efficiency, and adherence to food safety standards, ensuring guests always find fresh, properly priced, and well-presented products.
This Food & Beverage Team Leader position offers an hourly pay range starting at $20.75 up to $35.25, depending on factors such as education, experience, labor market conditions, and certifications. The role primarily focuses on leading the Food & Beverage team to deliver on sales goals and guest service standards, emphasizing product freshness, inventory management, pricing accuracy, and promotional implementation. As a team leader, you will develop skills in team management, coaching, sales analysis, and operational planning in a dynamic retail environment.
The Food & Beverage Team Leader is responsible for planning and executing daily and weekly workload priorities to support the department’s business goals. You will lead, coach, and develop hourly team members by setting expectations, holding individuals accountable, and fostering a culture of guest-first service and safety compliance. A typical day may include evaluating sales trends, monitoring inventory, ensuring food safety adherence, coordinating vendor relationships, and supporting store-wide guest services such as cashier backup and order pickup areas.
Besides operational responsibilities, this role also involves training your team on federal, state, and local regulations, particularly regarding adult beverages if applicable, and maintaining partnerships with external brands like Starbucks and Pizza Hut. The position requires flexibility in working hours including early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays to align with guest and business needs. Physical demands include handling merchandise up to 44 pounds, working in temperature-controlled environments, and maintaining mobility throughout shifts.
Target offers a supportive work environment that values ethical conduct, inclusivity, and continuous learning. Employees benefit from comprehensive health insurance plans including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, paid sick leave, paid holidays, vacation, and retirement savings options with 401(k). These benefits support the well-being and financial security of team members and their families. The company also prioritizes accessibility and reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive hiring process.
