Established with a vision to bring joy and convenience to everyday shopping, Target has cultivated a strong brand presence nationwide through its innovative retail strategies, engaging store environments, and a firm dedication to community and sustainability initiatives. The company offers diverse career opportunities and values its team members as critical to driving its success and maintaining its welcoming culture. Target’s benefits package is comprehensive, covering essential health benefits, retirement plans, and development opportunities, reflecting its investment in team members' well-being and future growth.
The Food & Beverage Team Leader role at Target represents a key leadership position within the retail environment, specifically dedicated to the Food & Beverage department. This role focuses on ensuring that guests receive a consistently excellent shopping experience centered around fresh, quality food products and exceptional service. The Team Leader is responsible for managing a team that oversees food safety, merchandising, inventory accuracy, and pricing strategies. This leadership position requires a balance of operational efficiency, team development, and customer engagement to meet and exceed sales goals while maintaining compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.
The position offers a starting pay range between $22.00 and $24.00 per hour, with a full pay range extending up to $37.40 per hour, influenced by factors such as labor markets, education, certifications, and work experience. Team members eligible for this role receive comprehensive health benefits including medical, vision, dental, and life insurance. Additional perks include a 401(k) plan, employee discounts, short and long-term disability coverage, paid sick leave, paid holidays, and vacation time.
A typical day as a Food & Beverage Team Leader will involve strategizing and executing workload plans to optimize the guest experience and sales performance. This includes overseeing department merchandising, pricing accuracy, promotional setups, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards. The leader guides a team through interviews, coaching, and development to foster a highly engaged and motivated workforce. Collaboration with vendors and maintaining partnerships with brands such as Starbucks and Pizza Hut, where applicable, are essential to delivering a premium shopping experience.
Safety, compliance, and inclusivity are core pillars of this role. The leader not only ensures the operational adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations concerning food safety and alcohol laws but also promotes an environment where diversity is valued and team members feel included and respected. The role necessitates flexibility with schedules, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, to support business needs and guest demands.
This leadership position offers significant growth potential through meaningful experiences that sharpen leadership skills, operational savvy, and customer engagement competencies, making it an ideal career step for those passionate about retail, food service, and team management. Target provides robust training to equip new leaders with the knowledge required for success as they embark on this rewarding career path.
