Job Description
Target is a leading retail corporation that operates large-scale department stores across the United States, committed to delivering an exceptional shopping experience while fostering an inclusive and team-focused environment. Known for its comprehensive product range, including apparel, household essentials, electronics, and groceries, Target emphasizes quality, affordability, and convenience. The company strongly values its team members and invests in their growth, well-being, and satisfaction, offering a culture that encourages respect, integrity, and collaboration. Through innovative store formats, strategic marketing, and community engagement, Target maintains its place as a top choice for customers nationwide.
This position specifically focuses on the Food & Beverage department within Target, playing a crucial role in ensuring the freshness, availability, and proper merchandising of food-related products throughout the store. The Food & Beverage Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of hourly associates, orchestrating inventory management, and guaranteeing that all food safety and quality standards are rigorously followed. Beyond just managing daily operations, this role serves as a foundation for leadership development by providing opportunities to learn about guest service fundamentals, food safety, merchandising strategies, pricing accuracy, and sales trends.
As a Food & Beverage Team Leader at Target, hourly pay starts between $21.00 and $23.00, with potential to earn up to $35.70 depending on several factors such as labor market conditions, education, work experience, and certifications. The role demands a dynamic individual who thrives in fast-paced, physically active environments, is adaptable to variable schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays, and possesses excellent communication and organizational skills. The leader fosters a culture where freshness is prioritized, ensuring that all products on shelves meet Target's high standards for quality and presentation.
In addition to competitive compensation, the position includes a wide array of benefits such as comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision), life insurance, 401(k), employee discounts, paid sick leave, paid vacation, and paid national holidays. Team Leaders are also involved in maintaining compliance with federal and local laws, including those related to adult beverage sales, and uphold Target's safety and ethical standards within the store.
This opportunity is especially suited for individuals who enjoy helping others and leading by example. The Team Leader is expected to develop talent through interviewing, coaching, and training, while staying updated on relevant food industry trends. Responsibilities include managing daily workload assignments, conducting store product quality checks, collaborating with vendors, and supporting the overall guest experience in the Food & Beverage sections, which may include Starbucks, Pizza Hut, and other in-store services. Moreover, the leader supports retail operations by assisting with cashier duties, order pickups, and driving sales through effective merchandise management and promotional strategies.
Working at Target offers a meaningful career path with leadership experiences that build core business and interpersonal skills. The company is dedicated to creating equitable, welcoming workspaces where diversity is celebrated and all voices are valued. Target also complies with ADA standards, ensuring reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees. This role allows individuals to develop as professionals within a supportive and positive culture that emphasizes guest service excellence and operational success. Overall, the Food & Beverage Team Leader role at Target is a promising position for motivated candidates who want to contribute to a vibrant retail environment and grow within a nationally respected company.
