The Food & Beverage Supervisor position at Bahia Resort Hotel is an integral role within the resort's operations, responsible for overseeing the daily activities of multiple food and beverage outlets. These include the restaurant, bar, coffee shop, room service, pool service, and other assigned outlets. This role is pivotal in ensuring that guests receive exceptional service while maintaining the high standards for which the Bahia Resort is known. The Supervisor is tasked with supporting and leading front-of-house teams, ensuring adherence to operational procedures and service standards that contribute to a seamless and memorable guest experience. Acting as a link between management and front-line staff, the Food & Beverage Supervisor fosters a culture of hospitality, professionalism, and accountability.

Compensation for this role ranges from $26.20 to $29.00 per hour, depending on experience. The Food & Beverage Supervisor's key responsibilities include leading the front-of-house team to execute consistent service standards, maintaining a visible presence on the floor to monitor performance and swiftly resolve guest concerns, and enforcing cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards as per health department regulations. They monitor service flow to ensure efficiency and guest satisfaction, coach and develop team members, and support labor management and budgetary compliance. Collaboration with the culinary team is essential to ensure food quality and presentation meet the resort's standards. This supervisory role manages multiple outlets simultaneously, ensuring smooth operations and a consistent guest experience throughout all venues. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in hospitality or related field
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license with no recent violations
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Must obtain San Diego County Food Handler certification and RBS certification
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of progressive hospitality experience including prior supervisory or leadership responsibilities
  • Relevant experience and/or training
  • A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement
  • Previous similar position in an upscale hotel, restaurant, or similar business entity preferred
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire with training provided
  • RBS Certification required
  • Must have an unexpired and valid driver’s license with no recent violations
  • Candidates must be over 21 years of age for insurance purposes
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude especially under stress or challenges
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 lbs

Job Duties

  • Lead and support front-of-house team members to ensure consistent execution of service standards and operational procedures including steps of service, host standards, reservation systems, table touches, and guest experience management
  • Maintain an active and visible presence on the floor during service periods to monitor performance, support staff, and proactively resolve guest concerns
  • Enforce cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in compliance with health department regulations and hotel policies
  • Monitor service flow and make real-time adjustments to ensure efficiency and guest satisfaction
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail across all aspects of operations including service quality, presentation standards, cleanliness, and team performance to maintain a high standard of excellence
  • Respond to guest feedback promptly and professionally, implementing service recovery when necessary
  • Coach and develop team members through ongoing feedback and in-the-moment guidance to improve service delivery and professionalism
  • Participate in and support required training programs to ensure team members maintain service standards and operational knowledge
  • Maintain and reconcile assigned house bank in accordance with established cash-handling procedures
  • Support labor management initiatives and assist in controlling costs within approved departmental budgets
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure food quality, plating, and presentation standards are met while maintaining strong communication between front- and back-of-house operations
  • Support Food and Beverage operations by managing multiple outlets as needed including the restaurant, bar, pool, coffee shop, and other F&B outlets to ensure smooth service and a consistent guest experience
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team
