This job opportunity is with Oak View Group for the position of Food & Beverage Supervisor. The role is a part-time position offering an hourly wage of $22.00, with benefits including a 401(k) Savings Plan and matching contributions. As a Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the dining experience within venue dining areas and catering functions. The position demands a personable individual capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Food & Beverage Managers, the supervisor will assist with various projects such as staff training, inventory management, and the coordination of special events.
The Food & Beverage Supervisor is expected to ensure high standards of service, safety, and guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for supervising meal and beverage service, including enforcement of alcohol service laws such as verifying guest age and monitoring for intoxication. The supervisor will also manage POS orders, oversee dining setup, and maintain clean and operable equipment. This role requires excellent communication skills for effectively interacting with guests, management, and staff to foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.

Job Requirements
- Applicable education or experience in food and beverage supervision
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a restaurant or catering environment
- Valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit where required
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle cash responsibly
- Ability to work flexible hours including events
- Excellent attendance record
- Ability to operate POS systems
- Team player mindset
- Knowledge of health and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years' experience working in a supervisory capacity in a fast-paced restaurant or catering environment or applicable education
- Ability to supervise the work of others
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations
- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
- Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory
Job Duties
- Oversee meal service to guests or guide guests through the buffet line as needed
- Supervise beverage service including alcoholic beverages and verify guest identification to ensure compliance with minimum age requirements
- Assist with recording guest orders and entering them into the kitchen through the POS system
- Monitor guest tables to respond to additional requests and determine when meals are completed
- Calculate meal totals, present checks to guests, process payments, and provide change when necessary
- Ensure tableware and linens are replaced and maintained as needed throughout service
- Recommend menu items, describe ingredients, and explain preparation methods to enhance the guest dining experience
- Supervise the set up of banquet functions including linens, dishware, glassware and silverware
- Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
- Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
- Assure that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to start of event
- Recognize guests that are visibly intoxicated and take action to cut off alcohol to such individuals
- Enforce all Ovations policies and procedures
- Assist Management team with projects including training, inventory and special events
- Perform all other duties as assigned by managers and supervisors
