Located in Shelter Cove, the company prides itself on providing excellent accommodations and superior guest services to travelers seeking memorable getaways. The hospitality environment here emphasizes quality, comfort, and customer satisfaction, maintaining standards that reflect the company's strong reputation in the vacation rental and resort industry.
The Restaurant Supervisor - Food & Beverage position at Highway West Vacations is a seasonal, full-time, non-exempt role that reports directly to the Regional Director and General Manager. This role is integral to the smooth functioning and success of the restaurant operations at the property. As Restaurant Supervisor, the individual is responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager in leading the front-of-house service team. This includes overseeing daily restaurant activities to ensure a high standard of customer service, efficient workflow, and strict adherence to company policies and food safety regulations.
The Restaurant Supervisor plays a vital leadership role, supervising both front-of-house and back-of-house staff, coaching team members, and fostering positive work environment dynamics. Key tasks include helping with employee scheduling, training new staff on restaurant procedures and service expectations, and maintaining an organized, clean dining environment. The supervisor also actively manages guest relations by addressing and resolving customer complaints professionally, ensuring every guest receives prompt and friendly service.
This role requires juggling multiple responsibilities such as monitoring inventory levels, assisting with ordering supplies, handling cash management tasks like register oversight, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards. The supervisor is expected to maintain food quality and presentation standards consistently and to coordinate the team's efforts effectively, particularly during peak service periods.
Highway West Vacations offers a comprehensive compensation package, including company-paid employee-only health insurance, vacation and sick time, paid company holidays, life insurance, and employee discounts. The company promotes a friendly and inclusive work culture and is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and nondiscrimination.
The ideal candidate for the Restaurant Supervisor role will have at least one to three years of experience in the restaurant or hospitality sector, preferably with supervisory experience. Strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential. Candidates should be dependable and punctual, with an impeccable attendance record and attention to detail. Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems are preferred, alongside the physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25-50 pounds. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is also required.
Joining the team at Highway West Vacations as a Restaurant Supervisor is a fantastic opportunity for hospitality professionals who enjoy dynamic work environments and are passionate about delivering excellent guest experiences. This role not only demands operational excellence but also encourages creating a positive and learning-friendly environment that supports the growth and development of all team members, making it a rewarding career choice in the food and beverage industry.
