Job Description

The Bay Club Company (TBCC) is a prestigious organization that manages a collection of premium clubs, focusing on providing exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for its members and guests. Known for its commitment to excellence and a strong Code of Culture, TBCC fosters an environment where respect, responsibility, and a forward-thinking mindset are deeply ingrained values. The company’s culture emphasizes integrity, teamwork, continuous learning, and a shared commitment to service that goes beyond the ordinary. This culture fuels the success of the clubs it manages, cultivating communities where members feel valued and staff are motivated to deliver their best every day.

The Bay Club Company is currently seeking a dedicated Cafe Manager to oversee the daily operations of its cafe facilities. This role is pivotal to maintaining the high standards of product quality, customer service, and financial performance that TBCC is known for. As a Cafe Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the cafe kitchen staff, ensuring that all food products and services meet health and safety standards, and managing the overall profitability of the cafe. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of food service operations, and the ability to foster a positive environment for staff and customers alike.

In this role, you will hire, train, and develop your team in accordance with company policies, ensuring all team members hold current food safety certifications and adhere to uniform standards. Managing scheduling, payroll processing, and performance evaluations will be part of your key responsibilities, alongside conducting weekly departmental meetings to align team goals and operational feedback. Your expertise will be essential in handling kitchen management tasks such as organizing equipment, sourcing food products, and maintaining inventory control while driving menu creativity and adherence to recipes.

Food handling, preparation, and presentation are critical elements of this position; you will be actively involved in food production, quality control, and ensuring consistency in the dining experience. A strong commitment to sanitation and safety practices, including compliance with HAACP guidelines, will help maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment. As a financial steward, you will closely monitor the cafe’s financial performance, track operational costs, prepare budgets, and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets. Communication with management, staff, members, guests, and vendors is key, as is promoting a harmonious work environment and representing the club professionally.

This role demands flexibility in working hours, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and the last three days of each month to meet financial close-out deadlines. The physical demands include working in hot and cold kitchen environments, standing, walking, lifting up to 60 pounds, and performing various physical activities associated with food preparation and service. The compensation range for this position is $16.90 to $27.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of the role in upholding the standards and success of the cafe operations.

Joining The Bay Club Company as a Cafe Manager offers an opportunity to be part of a supportive, dynamic team that values integrity, service excellence, and continuous improvement. You will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere that aligns with the company’s mission and enhances the overall member experience. This position is suited for a proactive leader with a passion for food service and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture. TBCC is an equal opportunity employer, embracing diversity and inclusion in all aspects of employment.
