The role of Food and Beverage Supervisor at Sun Outdoors is integral to maintaining the high standards and authentic hospitality that define the company. This position plays a crucial leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of the Food and Beverage (F&B) department, ensuring that service quality, cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction are consistently upheld. The supervisor leads by example, setting the tone for a positive and professional work environment while managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. The position requires careful attention to detail in cash handling, compliance with liquor and bar procedures, food preparation, inventory management, and the enforcement of health and safety regulations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of increasingly responsible restaurant/food service management experience
  • 6 months of previous bartending experience preferred
  • demonstrated leadership abilities
  • demonstrated knowledge of restaurant administration, food preparation and food safety
  • strong customer service and communication skills
  • basic math skills
  • basic computer proficiency including the ability to use email and internet
  • innate desire to provide the very best guest experience
  • mentality of a leader with a willingness to learn and grow
  • knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel)
  • maintains a professional resort image, including cleanliness and appearance standards
  • must be able to pass the Safe Food Handler Certificate Program within 60 days from date of hire

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • proven leadership experience in food and beverage or restaurant management

Job Duties

  • Tracks sales and other key metrics to understand and drive financial goals and objectives provided by Food and Beverage Manager, Resort General Manager, and National Director of Food and Beverage
  • manages individual banks for each F&B facility
  • collects, reconciles, and deposits individual reports and monies daily
  • ensures a positive guest service
  • responds to complaints quickly and effectively
  • ensures invoices are checked against deliveries and forwarded with money and receipts to the office daily
  • oversees the daily deposits and assists with reconciliation
  • performs shift opening/closing duties, including starting/cleaning equipment, general food preparation, reporting malfunctions to manager, ensuring equipment is in proper working order and all operations are running smoothly
  • maintains kitchen and cooking areas and ensures kitchen equipment and food storage areas are clean, sanitary, and organized as required by Health Department Rules and Regulations
  • coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures
  • prepares food ordered by customers using a variety of kitchen equipment
  • creates a fun, safe, and rewarding work environment for team members and an open line of communication with staff
  • works as necessary in any position within the food and beverage department, front or back of house
  • ensures quality control in both the front and back of house via proper recipes and preparation methods
  • guarantees proper food safety and cleanliness standards are always observed
  • reports any kitchen equipment or maintenance issue to Food & Beverage Manager and/or Maintenance department
  • promotes and represents the F&B amenities as well as the resort in a positive manner
  • other duties as assigned
