The Food & Beverage Supervisor role at Shaner and Buffalo Marriott at LECOM HARBORCENTER involves a blend of leadership, operational management, and customer service excellence. This full-time position, offering a competitive pay of $20 per hour, is critical in supporting the Food & Beverage Manager and General Manager by helping to train and lead the restaurant team. Supervisors ensure that daily operational procedures are effectively completed, food and beverage safety and quality comply with hotel and franchise standards, and all staff maintain a positive and productive work environment.

The supervisor's responsibilities include managing employee performance to guarantee productivity and uphold quality work conditions. They act as a direct point of contact for guest-related issues, ensuring swift and courteous resolutions that foster guest satisfaction. Communicating regularly with various department managers, supervisors, and staff is essential, supporting seamless coordination across hotel operations. Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of experience in the Restaurant or Food and Beverage field
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
  • ServSafe and/or food safety training required
  • Alcohol awareness training such as TIPS required
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and operational documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
  • Ability to prepare budgets and control costs
  • Flexible to work weekends holidays and varied shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience in the Restaurant or Food and Beverage field
  • Previous supervisory or management experience a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests management and co-workers to their understanding
  • High school graduate or equivalent some college preferred
  • ServSafe and/or food safety training
  • Alcohol awareness training such as TIPS
  • Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to accurately compute mathematical calculations and use required measurement tools
  • Ability to prepare budgets and ensure cost controls
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele

Job Duties

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts
  • Ensure compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department
  • Maintain food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel Shaner and Franchise specifications
  • Establish maintain and train standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department
  • Respond and handle guest related issues pertaining to the department
  • Ensure communication with General Manager all other Department Managers Supervisors and Staff
  • Assist in managing all aspects of employee performance to ensure productivity and a quality work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
