The Food & Beverage Steward position at Aulani plays a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen and dining areas to support the overall guest experience. This full-time role requires dedication to maintaining high standards of sanitation and organization within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Stewards work closely with kitchen team members and guest dining areas to clean, organize, and prepare equipment, dishes, and utensils used throughout the resort's food and beverage services. Responsibilities include operating large dish machines, manually cleaning various kitchenware, managing waste and recycling, and contributing to deep cleaning efforts. Stewards must be physically capable of handling heavy lifting and working in environments that may be loud or confined. The position demands a motivated team player who adheres to proper sanitation procedures, including HACCP guidelines, to ensure the health and safety of both guests and colleagues.

Job Requirements
- Able to do heavy lifting of pots/pans and trays, up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push/pull heavy carts
- Able to work in areas with loud noises and confined spaces
- Understanding principles of proper sanitation
- Strong listening skills
- Self motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience
- Previous cleaning experience in fast paced environment or hotel or banquet area
- Some knowledge or experience working with large kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of Hawaiian or Japanese language preferred
- Full availability for any shift, seven days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays is preferred
- Strong listening skills
- Self motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team
Job Duties
- Responsible for working with large dish machines when loading and unloading dishware, glassware and silverware
- Responsible for manually scraping plates, utensils and other dishware used in restaurants prior to loading in dishwashing machines
- Responsible for manually scrubbing large pots and pans at a pot sink
- Sort pots, pans, dishes, glassware, flatware and utensils and restock into designated locations for restaurant use
- Maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the area by sweeping, mopping and scrubbing kitchen floors, coolers and freezers and washing and replacing all trash cans
- Responsible for emptying trash and recyclables appropriately
- May clean kitchen counters and walls
- May polish items such as silver and flatware
- Monitor water cleanliness in the pot sink and in the dish machines
- Performs deep cleaning according to deep cleaning schedule or as needed
- Follow proper sanitation and HACCP procedures
- Responsible for ensuring chemical storage areas are neat and orderly
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of back dock area which may include pressure washing
