Target is a leading retail corporation well-known for creating an inspiring shopping experience for millions of guests across the United States. As a prominent big-box store, Target provides a wide range of products, including household essentials, clothing, electronics, and groceries, positioning itself as a one-stop destination for families. The company is widely recognized not only for its competitive prices but also for its strong commitment to company values such as inclusivity, community engagement, guest service, and a positive team culture. Working at Target means becoming part of a vibrant team that thrives on collaboration, innovation, and making a meaningful impact in the community. Target champions diversity and encourages team members to develop professionally, offering learning and growth opportunities to build rewarding careers within the retail industry.
The Food & Beverage Expert role at Target is a vital position within the store's food and grocery department. This role is centered around delivering exceptional customer experiences by ensuring that all food and beverage products are fresh, well-stocked, properly priced, and accurately signed. In this position, employees become experts in food safety standards, merchandising, inventory accuracy, and promotional campaigns. The Food & Beverage team plays an important role in maintaining product quality and freshness through routine processes such as replenishment, culling expired products, rotation practices, and following strict food safety guidelines. Individuals who take on this role gain hands-on experience with daily operational management of the food and beverage section, learning the nuances of sales trends, inventory management, and customer engagement strategies.
As a Food & Beverage Expert, you will be expected to deliver outstanding guest service that prioritizes guest needs above routine tasks, creating a welcoming and proactive shopping environment. This role involves a mix of physical activity, teamwork, and customer interaction, providing continuous opportunities to develop skills related to communication, multitasking, problem solving, and process execution. You will also have the chance to collaborate closely with vendors and other team members to maintain a merchandise presentation that meets Target's high standards. Additionally, you will adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local laws related to food safety, adult beverage sales, and equipment use, fostering a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
Target values flexibility and is committed to supporting its employees with a dynamic work schedule that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times. While previous food or grocery experience is preferred, Target offers comprehensive training programs to ensure all team members possess the tools needed for success. Those who thrive in this role are individuals who enjoy helping others, can adapt quickly in fast-paced environments, have strong attention to detail, and are physically capable of performing tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in varying temperature environments.
This hourly role starts at $15.50 per hour and offers competitive benefits designed to support financial wellness, education, and overall well-being. Target also provides reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities to ensure an inclusive hiring process. By joining Target as a Food & Beverage Expert, you become part of an exciting retail environment that values respect, integrity, and continuous development, making it an excellent choice for those looking to build a foundation for a rewarding career in retail and customer service.
