Target is a leading nationwide retailer known for its commitment to delivering exceptional shopping experiences and value to its guests. Operating hundreds of stores across the United States, Target combines a broad selection of quality products in various departments, including apparel, electronics, home essentials, and groceries, with a welcoming and efficient store environment. The company emphasizes a strong culture built on inclusivity, respect, and community engagement, making it a preferred destination not only for shoppers but also for team members seeking growth and career opportunities.
The Food & Beverage department at Target plays a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience by ensuring the availability and quality of food products throughout the store. This team manages fresh produce, grocery items, and beverages with great attention to detail and consistency. From maintaining product freshness and accurate pricing to merchandising and food safety compliance, the Food & Beverage experts ensure that customers find what they need in an inviting and orderly setting. Employment at Target in the Food & Beverage sector provides individuals with the opportunity to learn valuable skills related to product knowledge, inventory management, food safety, and guest service excellence.
The Food & Beverage Expert position at Target offers a dynamic and engaging work environment where no two days are the same. Starting at a competitive hourly rate of $17.00 USD per hour, this role invites individuals who enjoy interacting with guests and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented context. Responsibilities are diverse, ranging from replenishing inventory and organizing merchandise to ensuring compliance with food safety standards and promoting products through sampling and suggestive selling. Professionals in this role are also responsible for maintaining a safe workplace by following all safety protocols and using proper equipment.
This position is ideal for candidates who can thrive in a physically active role, requiring tasks like climbing ladders, handling merchandise up to 44 pounds, and working in different temperature environments, potentially as low as -10°F. Flexibility is key, as the schedule may include nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping periods. Target supports its Food & Beverage Experts with comprehensive training programs designed to help them build essential skills in guest service, inventory control, food safety, and merchandising.
Moreover, the role demands ethical conduct, safety mindfulness, and an eagerness to contribute to a positive team culture. Food & Beverage Experts engage directly with guests to assist with questions, offer insights on product usage and storage, and create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects Target’s commitment to customer satisfaction. The company also fosters a culture of continuous improvement and welcomes team members who are adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of problem-solving in a bright, active retail environment.
