The Food and Beverage Staff position at Malibu Jack's Lafayette is a part-time opportunity ideal for individuals who are energetic, friendly, and passionate about providing exceptional guest service. This role centers around enhancing the dining experience by greeting guests warmly, efficiently taking orders, and possessing a thorough knowledge of the menu. The staff member will also be responsible for seating guests appropriately and anticipating their needs throughout their visit. Supporting the server and busser teams is a key aspect of the role, especially by assisting with bussing tables, cleaning, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the foyer area, including both interior and exterior spaces. The position demands a proactive mindset where the staff member handles guest concerns promptly, strives to exceed expectations, and engages positively with all guests from arrival to departure.

Applicants must be willing to work flexible hours, including holidays and weekends, and embrace the company’s strong training culture which involves consistent coaching and development by supervisors and management. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Ability to perform consistent physical activity including walking, bending and lifting
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends
  • Willingness to work flexible hours

  • Ability to respond well to coaching and training
  • Employment may require background check

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food and beverage or customer service roles preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Positive attitude and customer-focused mindset
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures
  • Reliable and punctual

Job Duties

  • Energizes people and is passionate about guest service
  • Empowers themself to handle guest complaints immediately, exceed guest expectations, and informs management to ensure follow up
  • Works flexible hours, reports to work on time and complies with company dress code
  • Responds well to a strong training culture which will result in being coached by supervisors and managers consistently
  • Completes all other duties as assigned
  • Committed to working any facility and any function within his/her primary job classification
  • Thoroughly knowledgeable on menu and food preparation
  • Greets guests in a timely and professional manner, escorts guests to tables
  • Supports servers on the floor with bussing dirty tables, cleaning floors, arranging tables, and filling water glasses
  • Thanks guests by name for their visit and invites them to return
  • Maintains a cleanliness of foyer, including but not limited to outside-perimeter cleanliness, music types and sound levels, lighting, temperature, hourly floor cleanliness, and spot cleaning
