With a focus on sustainable and forward-thinking designs, Mead & Hunt serves a wide range of industries, including transportation, water resources, energy, and manufacturing. The firm thrives on collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement, making it a preferred partner for many leading organizations.
Located in West Allis in the Milwaukee area, Mead & Hunt is currently experiencing unprecedented growth within its Food & Beverage group. This surge in demand reflects the company's expanding role in providing cutting-edge engineering solutions tailored to the food and beverage manufacturing sector. The Food & Beverage group specializes in process innovation, packaging technology, and automation, addressing the complex challenges faced by manufacturers in a highly competitive market.
The role available is for a full-time project manager who will lead a multi-disciplinary design team to develop and implement state-of-the-art process, packaging, and automation solutions. This position requires an individual with strong engineering leadership capabilities, excellent project management skills, and a solid working knowledge of process systems, utility integration, packaging design, and control systems. The project manager will oversee all phases of project execution from initial design and equipment procurement to construction, commissioning, and training, while ensuring a positive and productive client experience throughout the project lifecycle.
A critical aspect of the role involves managing complex project scopes and multiple projects simultaneously, requiring exceptional organizational and communication skills. The project manager will work closely with discipline leads, engineers, subcontractors, subconsultants, and equipment vendors to deliver projects on time and budget. The position demands a proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities and fostering client relationships, enhancing the firm's footprint in the food and beverage manufacturing sector.
Travel is a requirement for this role, reflecting the need for on-site project management, client meetings, and collaboration with various stakeholders across multiple locations. Candidates for this position must be self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a larger team, and capable of navigating the challenges associated with fast-paced, dynamic project environments.
Mead & Hunt values diversity and provides an inclusive work environment where all employees can thrive. The company is committed to equal opportunity employment and does not discriminate based on veteran status, disability, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin. This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
As an employer, Mead & Hunt offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees' health, financial security, and work-life balance. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, paid sick leave, parental leave, a robust 401K plan with company match, life and disability insurance, and an employee assistance program.
If you have a bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical or chemical engineering or a related field and at least 10 years of relevant engineering firm experience with at least 2 years in a project management role, or alternatively 14 years of relevant experience without a degree including at least 2 years at the project manager level, this is an excellent opportunity to advance your career.
