The Food and Beverage Shift Manager plays a critical role within the Food & Beverage Department, tasked with ensuring excellent customer service and smooth operational execution during evening and overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays. This managerial position requires strong leadership skills to oversee daily activities, manage staff performance, and maintain compliance with company policies. The Shift Manager is responsible for enforcing performance standards, handling scheduling, training, and managing employee performance to optimize service quality and efficiency. Through effective resource management, the Shift Manager aims to create a seamless experience for guests while maximizing cost-effectiveness against established budgets and revenue targets.
In addition to daily operational oversight, the Food & Beverage Shift Manager serves as a key liaison between staff and senior management, escalating issues and providing actionable insights to improve processes. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to set priorities and coordinate special projects as directed by the Director of Food & Beverage. Job Duties
- Enforces performance standards, policies and procedures in the Food & Beverage Department to ensure compliance with Company expectations
- Responsible for scheduling, training and performance management of Food & Beverage employees to ensure staffs compliance with all customer service and operational needs
- Ensure all day-to-day operations run in the most efficient way possible
- Reviews and approves all recommendations to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign and disciple all Food & Beverage employees in a fair and equitable manner
- Maximizes cost effectiveness within the Department, by creating and ensuring compliance with established budget, labor and revenue benchmarks
- Responsible for the intake, review and action of customer complaints in Food and Beverage
- Monitors and evaluates job performance of Food and Beverage employees and managers, to provide feedback and coaching in order to enhance skills
- Escalates operational deficiencies to Director of Food & Beverage
- provides suggestions from leadership team on recommendations for improvement
- Sets priorities for the Food and Beverage team
- Special projects and other tasks as needed by Director of Food & Beverage
