The Food & Beverage Manager role at Comanche Trace is a critical position within the Food and Beverage department responsible for the comprehensive oversight of all food and beverage operations at the property. This management role involves hiring, training, and supervising all service and food production staff related to the department. The manager ensures that the wants and needs of members and guests are consistently met or exceeded by applying extensive knowledge and experience in food and beverage management. This position requires daily engagement in operations, quality control, event coordination, and staff leadership, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. By maintaining strict adherence to health regulations and cost control procedures, the Food & Beverage Manager plays an essential role in sustaining the club's reputation for excellence.

Additionally, this role entails direct involvement in planning and execution of banquets, parties, and special events, contributing to member satisfaction and the club's event-hosting success. The manager also collaborates closely with the General Manager to handle staffing, scheduling, and development of the service team, which includes servers, bartenders, and beverage cart attendants. Responsibilities include managing accounting procedures related to food and beverage operations, conducting monthly inventory counts, and ensuring compliance with all applicable health, safety, and liquor laws. Emphasizing teamwork, employee morale, and effective communication with staff and management, the Food & Beverage Manager is vital in upholding service standards and operational efficiency at Comanche Trace.

Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree (AA) or six months to one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • meets state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages
  • alcohol awareness training
  • food safety and appropriate sanitation training

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of related experience in F&B management
  • strong sales orientation
  • proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • knowledge of pertinent health regulations and liquor laws
  • experienced with computerized point of sale systems
  • food and beverage, a la carte and banquet experience
  • strong business aptitude
  • strong service orientation
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
  • exceptional interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Daily management of the food and beverage department
  • assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • direct and assist with set-up, preparation and execution of banquets, parties and special events
  • assist the General Manager in hiring, supervising, scheduling and developing servers, bartenders, and beverage cart attendants
  • provide daily oversight of F&B accounting procedures
  • maintain cost controls and conduct monthly inventory
  • train front line staff on quality assurance and appropriate guest service
  • perform daily walk-throughs to ensure full compliance with the Department of Health regulations
  • comply with applicable health, alcoholic beverage, fire and other local/state laws
  • follow correct closing procedures and appropriate cash handling practices
  • promote teamwork and associate morale
  • may spend up to 20% to 40% of the time filling in for other nonexempt employees who are absent, in training
  • assist in trouble shooting equipment failures and notify GM so proper work order is entered
  • communicate daily with staff for special needs, outages, projects
  • perform other duties as assigned by manager
