The Food & Beverage Senior Market Leader role at Mead & Hunt is a significant market-facing leadership position responsible for providing national leadership in strategy, client engagement, and growth within Mead & Hunt’s Food & Beverage market. This role requires a visionary leader to develop, execute, and grow the firm’s footprint in the food and beverage manufacturing industry across North America. It is not a project delivery role but focuses on market strategy, pursuit governance, industry presence, and driving business growth. This dynamic leadership position involves collaboration with engineering, architecture, and construction delivery teams to ensure alignment between market pursuits and firm capabilities.

As the strategic market owner for Mead & Hunt’s Food & Beverage business, the Senior Market Leader takes charge of identifying and advancing growth opportunities with national and regional food and beverage manufacturers. This includes building and sustaining senior-level relationships with clients, strategic teaming partners, and industry stakeholders. The position requires tracking market trends, regulatory drivers, and clients’ investment priorities, supporting marketing campaigns, industry events, and thought leadership initiatives to increase Mead & Hunt’s presence and influence within the industry.

Key responsibilities include partnering with internal multidisciplinary delivery teams to develop realistic scopes, staffing plans, fee strategies, and ensuring continuity from pursuit phases through execution. The leader will also act as Client Manager for key accounts during pursuit and early project phases. This role emphasizes cross-selling and integrating services across Mead & Hunt’s wide array of capabilities, mentoring emerging market leaders and business development staff, and leading quality assurance efforts on proposals and pursuits.

Ideal candidates are seasoned professionals with experience in the Food & Beverage industry, preferably with engineering-led EPC delivery models, and have demonstrated ability to lead major pursuits, develop client strategies, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills are essential, alongside the willingness to travel regularly. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience including at least 4 years in the Food & Beverage industry
  • Or, without a degree, at least 14 years of relevant marketing experience including 6 years in the Food & Beverage industry
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, construction management, or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years within the Food & Beverage industry
  • Professional engineering (PE) license or relevant professional certification preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working within AEC and engineering-led EPC environments
  • Proven ability to develop client strategies and lead major pursuits
  • Experience working with national food and beverage manufacturers
  • Strong understanding of process facilities, industrial systems, and EPC execution models
  • Experience leading or collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly

Job Duties

  • Develop and execute a national Food & Beverage market strategy aligned with Mead & Hunt’s long-range strategic and business plans
  • Identify, prioritize, and advance growth opportunities with national and regional food and beverage manufacturers
  • Lead or support go/no-go decisions, pursuit strategies, teaming approaches, and client interview preparation for major pursuits
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory drivers, and client capital investment priorities impacting the food and beverage industry
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with clients, industry partners, and strategic teaming firms
  • Support targeted marketing campaigns, thought leadership, and conference participation
  • Partner closely with engineering, architecture, and construction delivery teams to align pursuits with execution capabilities
