The Food and Beverage Manager position at W Atlanta Downtown is a full-time management role with an hourly wage range of $42.31 to $54.33 and eligibility for bonuses. This role is critical in supervising daily Food and Beverage operations while ensuring strict adherence to the hotel's policies, standards, and procedures. The Manager oversees the quality and standards of service delivered to guests, aiming to meet and exceed customer expectations every day. Responsibilities include managing operational budgets, staffing levels, employee productivity, compliance with legal standards, and maintaining an effective working environment that promotes motivation, teamwork, and a passion for exceptional service. This position demands strong leadership skills to build mutual trust and cooperation among team members, develop specific goals and plans, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the Food and Beverage department. The role also involves supporting supervisors, participating in ordering supplies, conducting inspections, and coordinating cleaning programs to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Serving as a role model for excellent service culture, the Manager actively engages with guests and team members to provide outstanding customer satisfaction and retention.

Providing exemplary customer service is a key aspect of the role. The Manager proactively addresses guest concerns, communicates feedback with staff, follows up on service quality, and fosters positive guest relations. Additional responsibilities include analyzing information to solve problems effectively, supporting team members' developmental needs through coaching and guidance, understanding financial reports, and ensuring all operational activities align with the brand's philosophy and strategic goals. This position plays a pivotal role in strengthening the brand identity and enhancing the overall guest experience at W Atlanta Downtown, contributing significantly to the hotel's success and reputation in the competitive hospitality industry.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years experience in the food and beverage, culinary or related professional area
  • Two-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major
  • Two years experience in the food and beverage, culinary or related professional area

Job Duties

  • Assists in the ordering of food and beverage supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms
  • Supervises daily food and beverage shift operation and monitors compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards and procedures
  • Supports and supervises an effective monthly self inspection program
  • Operates all department equipment as necessary and reports malfunction
  • Supervises staffing levels to verify that guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members
  • Understands employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence
