Job Description
This position is offered by a reputable hospitality establishment specializing in food and beverage services, likely operating multiple dining outlets in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high standards of service, food quality, and operational efficiency throughout its front-of-house operations. With a strong focus on leadership, teamwork, and guest satisfaction, the organization is committed to fostering a positive, safe, and compliant workplace that adheres to both state regulations and brand standards. This full-time, non-exempt position is integral to the success of their food and beverage department, involving close supervision of a large team, coordination with kitchen staff, and active management of daily operational functions. The role requires a significant emphasis on both administrative and customer service responsibilities to ensure smooth service delivery and financial performance.
The role of Food and Beverage Supervisor encompasses overseeing daily front-of-house operations including dining and banquet setup, ensuring cleanliness and safety of the environment, and maintaining close communication across departments. The supervisor monitors staff performance daily, reinforcing adherence to service standards and food quality while providing constructive feedback and conducting performance appraisals. The position demands proficiency in managing reservations, handling guest complaints, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere conducive to excellent customer experiences.
Key duties include managing scheduling and labor costs, supervising recruitment and training processes, and maintaining inventory and supply orders for uninterrupted operations. Furthermore, the supervisor will manage all financial and administrative elements such as cash handling, payment processing, tips, timesheet management, and revenue tracking. Leadership during peak service times, including busy weekends and holidays, is critical to uphold operational excellence and maintain a motivated and professional team environment. The position also requires adherence to health regulations, employment laws, and brand standards, guaranteeing compliance across all areas of responsibility.
The work environment blends public dining spaces with kitchen areas, where exposure to heat, steam, noise, and various kitchen equipment is routine. Physical demands necessitate stamina and ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds, alongside manual dexterity and strong communication skills. The position does not require travel and emphasizes steady availability during evenings, nights, weekends, and Monday through Friday schedule.
Ideal candidates will possess a high school diploma or equivalent with a background in food service and preferably prior supervisory experience. This position plays a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s reputation for outstanding service while supporting operational goals and enhancing guest satisfaction in a competitive hospitality setting. Equal employment opportunity is a fundamental principle of the employer’s philosophy, embracing diversity and inclusion across all levels of the organization.
