Job Description

The Food and Beverage Manager position is an exciting opportunity at a dynamic establishment located in downtown Anchorage, which is looking to make a significant impact in the local hospitality scene. As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting and working directly with the Food and Beverage Director. This leadership position requires excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and staff, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. The role focuses on banquet management, inventory control, health and safety compliance, and customer satisfaction, making it a pivotal part of the establishment's success. The ideal candidate will be someone who possesses a strong foundation in managing full-service dining operations, with at least two years of previous management experience, and who is passionate about delivering top-tier guest experiences in a fast-paced, high-quality environment.

Your responsibilities will encompass developing and leading diverse Food and Beverage teams through constructive, inclusive leadership methods. You will be tasked with taking and reporting inventories, monitoring stock levels to minimize waste, and optimizing stock control to meet operational needs. Maintaining compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations will be a priority, ensuring that dining areas remain clean and sanitary. Additionally, you will be involved in analyzing sales data and collecting customer feedback to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance the overall dining experience. Administrative duties will include assisting with financial reporting and staying up-to-date with innovations in the industry, including new culinary techniques and ingredients.

Another important aspect of this role is overseeing the standards of banquet and meeting rooms. You will directly manage banquet hosting to ensure that customers receive an excellent experience, coordinating beverage requests as necessary. Flexibility in working hours is required to accommodate operations during evenings, weekends, and holidays. You might also be expected to participate in external activities such as job fairs or community outreach events.

Job Requirements

  • Proven minimum 2 years experience in a manager role of a full-service dining operation
  • possess current Serve Safe and alcohol management certification
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and other relevant technology
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • understanding of health and safety regulations in a professional restaurant
  • flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • banquet management experience highly preferred

Job Duties

  • Support the management team by developing the Food and Beverage department teams through constructive, inclusive leadership
