Having undergone a $35 million transformation and reopening in July 2019, Hotel Oceana features a newly renovated restaurant with dining room designs crafted by the renowned Martin Brudnizki. The restaurant's fresh concept embraces Santa Monica's lush natural beauty and offers an inventive menu alongside artfully prepared dishes and a curated wine list, complemented by handcrafted cocktails. This creates a signature Southern California dining experience that is uniquely memorable and highly sought after by visitors and locals alike.
The role of Lead Mixologist at Hotel Oceana represents an exciting leadership opportunity within the food and beverage department. This full-time position involves managing the new restaurant's bar operations, delivering exceptional handcrafted cocktails, and upholding the highest standards of service that guests expect from a luxury hotel. As Lead Mixologist, you will work closely with the food and beverage management team and the wider restaurant staff to ensure a smooth and profitable daily operation, including vendor coordination, inventory management, and staff supervision. Your creative input and expertise will be pivotal in defining the bar's drink offerings and overall guest experience.
In this position, you will leverage at least two years of food and beverage experience, with a minimum of one year in a supervisory role within a fine dining environment. You are expected to bring a passion for the food service industry, coupled with a detailed understanding of restaurant operations and hospitality excellence. Your leadership will be essential in training and developing staff, addressing guest concerns promptly and effectively, and maintaining compliance with all food service regulations. Hotel Oceana seeks individuals with excellent communication skills, integrity, and a customer-centric approach to uphold its reputation for unparalleled guest service.
The work schedule is aligned with hospitality industry needs, including weekends and holidays, reinforcing a commitment to exceptional service at all times. Adherence to hotel dress and grooming standards is mandatory, reflecting the establishment's high standards of professionalism and style. Hotel Oceana offers competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) enrollment, vacation, paid sick leave, and holiday pay, supporting employees' wellness and financial security.
Join Hotel Oceana's prestigious team and contribute to a dining experience that is truly beyond compare. This position not only promises career growth within a luxury hotel setting but also the chance to be part of Santa Monica's vibrant hospitality scene and its celebrated culinary innovation.
