Job Description

Wawa, Inc. is a renowned convenience store chain and food service retailer known for its fresh food offerings, quality beverages, and exceptional customer service. Established with a commitment to delivering convenience and quality, Wawa operates numerous stores across several states, serving millions of customers every day. The company takes pride in creating a vibrant, inclusive work environment where associates are valued and empowered to grow both personally and professionally. Wawa’s reputation for quality food and exceptional service has made it a beloved brand among consumers, contributing to its sustained growth and strong presence in the retail and foodservice sectors.

The Food & Beverage Manager (FBM) role at Wawa is a crucial leadership position responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations within the store environment. This role requires a hands-on, customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. Reporting in cooperation with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager, the FBM is charged with ensuring that all food and beverage programs—from fresh food to grab-and-go meals, catering, and beverages—are executed flawlessly and consistently reflect Wawa's high standards of quality and service.

As a Food & Beverage Manager, you will take ownership of the food and beverage department's success, driving sales, meeting performance goals, and implementing quality controls that foster an outstanding customer experience. You will become an in-store expert on all food programs, promotions, and marketing initiatives, using this expertise to train and motivate Customer Service Associates to deliver consistently excellent service. Your leadership will involve supporting hiring, scheduling, training, and team development efforts, ensuring that every associate is set up for success and encouraged to grow within the company.

Maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting food service area in compliance with health and safety regulations is a vital part of your responsibilities, alongside managing inventory, ordering supplies, and overseeing equipment upkeep to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to multitask and make effective decisions that drive business results and optimize operational efficiency.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $23.40 to $31.55, which is commensurate with experience and location, complemented by eligibility for monthly bonus incentives. Wawa supports a flexible work environment with a commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity employment, offering extensive benefits that support associates financially, physically, and emotionally. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, mental health coverage, 401(k) with matching, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), education assistance, paid time off, and paid parental leave, among others.

This role is ideal for motivated individuals passionate about food service management, who are eager to contribute to a company's success while encouraging team development and maintaining high standards of operational excellence. Wawa ensures compliance with laws requiring reasonable accommodation during application processes and strives to maintain a discrimination-free workplace, emphasizing respect, fairness, and opportunity for all associates regardless of race, gender, age, or other protected characteristics.
