The Food and Beverage Manager role at Legends Global is a salaried, exempt position reporting directly to the Director of Food and Beverage. Based onsite in Rochester, MN, this position commands a competitive annual salary ranging from $75,000 to $80,000, supplemented by a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid vacation, and a 401k plan.

This role encompasses a broad scope of oversight and leadership responsibilities within the food and beverage department. The Food and Beverage Manager is tasked with monitoring and supervising all activities related to food and beverage service for facility-hosted events. This includes managing banquet, bar, and concession personnel to ensure exemplary service standards and client satisfaction at banquet and concession events. The manager works closely with various internal teams such as catering, events, culinary staff, stewardship, engineering, and purchasing to maintain optimal operational standards.

Key aspects of the position involve comprehensive staff management, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance appraisals, and the fostering of a positive and productive work environment. The role demands precision in managing food and beverage costs, inventory controls, waste minimization, and compliance with service standards and safety regulations. Job Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Duties

  • Assign and review function assignments of supervisory and service staff
  • manage associates through planning and scheduling of work assignments and performance development
  • interview, hire and train staff
  • recommend and maintain service standards and procedures
  • work with catering and events to determine proper function room set-ups
  • monitor ongoing maintenance of existing equipment needed for banquet service
  • ensure dress code compliance, adherence to service policies and procedures, and proper service standards during functions
  • oversee banquet, bar and concession par stock on consumables
  • assist in controlling food and beverage costs
  • review function reports and ensure they are distributed to proper personnel
  • complete or delegate pre-function planning processes
  • oversee the preparation, presentation and service of banquet and concession food and beverage products
  • verify the proper item prices to the menu
  • meet with all planners daily to review comments and concerns
  • hold food and beverage meetings to inform staff of policy changes
  • coordinate with catering, events, culinary and stewarding on the timing and production of functions
  • purchase bar and concession refreshments according to anticipated demand
  • continually manage and seek labor efficiencies
  • handle special projects related to food and beverage operations
  • ensure all credit card handling policies are met
  • oversee inventory management
  • conduct periodic inventory and track waste
  • supervise service by employees including porters, waiters, leads, bartenders
  • direct staff scheduling
  • oversee storeroom cleaning and item removal
  • take responsibility for counting items from the kitchen and guests upon arrival
  • direct set-up of special functions
  • handle last-minute changes
  • hold pre-function meetings
  • upgrade and implement new standards and systems
  • foster cooperative and harmonious working climate
  • inspect compliance with health, safety and liquor regulations
  • perform related duties as assigned by management
