Job Description
Aparium Hospitality Services is a distinguished hotel management company founded in 2011, known for creating unique hospitality experiences that reflect the distinctive culture and character of each community they operate within. Aparium is dedicated to blending the charm of boutique hotels with the operational prowess of large hospitality enterprises, specializing in vibrant smaller markets. Their approach emphasizes the importance of People, Place, and Character, fostering environments where both guests and associates feel valued and connected to the local neighborhood and culture. One of Aparium's signature properties is the Detroit Foundation Hotel, an independent 100-room hotel that revitalizes the historic Detroit Fire Department Headquarters. This hotel is an integral part of Detroit's ongoing renaissance, celebrating the city’s rich history while contributing to its emerging identity as a cultural, business, and artistic hub. The hotel features The Apparatus Room, a ground-floor restaurant that partners with local distillers, brewers, farmers, and purveyors to deliver an authentic Detroit culinary experience, embodying the brand’s philosophy of hyper-local hospitality.
The Food and Beverage Manager position at Aparium is a pivotal role reporting directly to the Director of Food & Beverage. This exempt position requires a dynamic leader who thrives in the fast-paced, high-pressure restaurant industry environment. The manager acts as both a tactical executor and a strategic thinker, embodying the philosophy of leading by example and engaging closely with the team and guests alike. Key responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, café, bar, in-room dining service, and pool F&B team to ensure seamless breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner services. The role demands a hands-on approach to identifying needs, troubleshooting operational challenges, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration among associates. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, highly organized, and adept at inspiring a team to deliver exceptional guest experiences while upholding Aparium’s core values. Leadership at Aparium encompasses nurturing talent through coaching and mentoring, maintaining operational standards, managing inventory, handling reservations and staffing logistics, and collaborating cross-functionally with culinary and hotel operations departments. This role offers an opportunity to work in a vibrant, engaging environment where innovation and community connection are at the forefront of service delivery. Aparium values inclusivity and diversity and fosters a welcoming atmosphere for all team members. The Food and Beverage Manager will play a critical role in continuing Aparium’s reputation for delivering memorable and locally-rooted hospitality experiences.
