Job Description

The Baltimore Country Club is a prestigious private club established in 1898, located in Baltimore, Maryland. With a rich history spanning over a century, the club offers its members a full range of recreational and social amenities designed to provide an exceptional and memorable experience. The club is recognized nationally as one of the top 25 private clubs in the United States, reflecting its unwavering commitment to excellence in the quality of services and experiences provided to its members and their guests. The club boasts a variety of facilities, including fine dining options, casual dining, and banquet event spaces, all aimed at catering to the sophisticated tastes and needs of its esteemed membership.

The Food & Beverage Manager/Restaurant Manager role is a critical position within the Baltimore Country Club, focused on ensuring that all aspects of dining service meet the high standards expected at this esteemed institution. The Manager will oversee service for both fine and casual dining as well as banquet events, maintaining a consistent level of gracious hospitality that defines the club's reputation. This role requires the individual to manage the setup, service, and closing operations in various dining facilities, ensuring that all services are delivered with a commitment to excellence and a focus on providing the best possible experiences for members and their guests.

In this role, the Manager will regularly interact with members and guests, addressing their needs and resolving any issues related to food, beverages, or service in a professional and timely manner. Acting as a key liaison between the dining room, kitchen staff, and other departments, the Manager plays a pivotal role in orchestrating seamless service delivery. Responsibilities also include supervising, training, and scheduling dining staff, managing and controlling operational expenses, securing dining areas at the end of service, and maintaining accurate dining room inventory.

Candidates must possess proven experience in managing both a-la-carte and banquet service operations, demonstrating leadership skills that motivate and empower staff to perform at exceptional levels. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential for effective communication with members, guests, Club management, and staff. Knowledge of food and beverage software systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, is required. The position demands flexibility to work all shifts, including weekends and evenings. While a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management is strongly preferred, candidates should also have a working knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine, which will enhance their ability to manage beverage service effectively.

This opportunity to join the Baltimore Country Club offers a chance to be part of a long-standing institution with secure future prospects. The club embraces a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, providing an environment where the Manager can grow professionally, learn from industry leaders, and contribute meaningfully to the distinguished legacy of the club. Compensation includes a competitive base salary with the potential for bonuses, comprehensive health and welfare benefits, paid time off, and a 401k retirement plan with matching contributions, underscoring the club’s investment in its employees.
