Job Description

Nestled within an exclusive and vibrant club environment, the Food & Beverage Manager role offers a unique leadership opportunity to oversee diverse dining experiences across multiple venues. This position is integral to ensuring an exceptional level of member service and operational excellence at the facility's varied food and beverage outlets, which include the Pub, 1929 Room, Terrace Lounge, Pool Bar/Dining, Halfway House, and Banquet areas. The hiring establishment operates as a private club, focusing on delivering high-quality dining experiences and personalized member service in an upscale atmosphere.

The Food & Beverage Manager works closely under the Director of Food & Beverage and is responsible for supervising all front-of-house service employees within the food and beverage department. This full-time role demands a manager who can efficiently balance the coordination of food and beverage operations, staff management, and administrative responsibilities. Expected to uphold the club’s high standards of cleanliness, safety, and professionalism, the manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining the ambiance and operational flow of indoor and outdoor dining venues.

This position is more than a conventional supervisory role; it is a leadership position requiring hands-on involvement with front-of-house staff and direct participation during peak service periods to ensure seamless service delivery. The manager is also instrumental in collaborating with culinary teams, maintaining point-of-sale (POS) systems, and managing inventory control of beverages and supplies. The role includes direct responsibility for scheduling, training, hiring, and disciplinary actions within the food and beverage service staff. The manager will actively participate in event execution, assisting with private and group functions to meet the club’s high standards.

Candidates should expect to demonstrate excellent communication skills and a proactive managerial approach, with duties including regular schedule planning, inventory management, and maintaining the highest appearance and service standards of the staff. The position also requires adaptability with the ability to take on various roles during busy times—such as server, host, bartender, or server assistant—providing relief and support where necessary.

This role includes managerial accountability as the Manager on Duty in the absence of other management personnel, further emphasizing the leadership and decision-making responsibilities of the position. The club places great emphasis on teamwork and member satisfaction, making this role central to the overall club operations and guest experience.

Compensation for this full-time role includes competitive salary, full service charge benefits related to wine orders during special dinners, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401K plan participation, vacation, sick, and personal time off. Additionally, the employee will gain membership in the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA), which provides professional growth and networking opportunities.

Overall, this Food & Beverage Manager position is ideal for a motivated hospitality professional with a background in restaurant, country club, or banquet operations, and at least one year of supervisory or management experience. It offers the chance to work in an esteemed club environment while developing leadership skills and contributing to the exceptional service standards for which the club is renowned.
