The Food and Beverage Manager role at Arlo Hotels is a vital position responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of all Food and Beverage outlets within the hotel. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stay on feet for 8 hours plus
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations and environments
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns and issues raised by team members and guests
  • Must be able to prioritize departmental functions to meet due dates and deadlines
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must maintain complete confidentiality regarding team member relations and any access to sensitive information or data
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Must have ability to prioritize departmental functions to meet due dates and deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two years of Food and Beverage Manager experience or equivalent
  • One year of restaurant leadership experience in a hotel environment or equivalent
  • Strong computer skills
  • Financial knowledge
  • Manager alcohol awareness certification
  • Manager Food Service permit as required
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize departmental functions and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Arlo Hotel standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Always comply with Arlo Hotels standards and regulations
  • Be visible and interact with guests and team members to provide consistently high levels of quality service
  • Ensure all communication with culinary and F&B managers is clear and accurate
  • Manage the Open Table system for guest and shift reservations and assist host team during peak times
  • Organize daily shift documentation including training, floor plans, requisitions, and labor management
  • Monitor and ensure all staff meet established service standards
  • Retrain staff as needed and provide feedback and appraisals
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining rooms and work areas and resolve safety or maintenance issues
  • Conduct monthly meetings for outlets and attend interdepartmental meetings for communication
  • Assist in marketing initiatives and menu development
  • Control budgeted and forecasted revenues, payroll, and product costs
  • Ensure compliance with Accounting and People Services policies
  • Report issues or grievances to management or People Services
  • Maintain Micros programming for F&B outlets
  • Monitor hotel activities and troubleshoot problems
  • Perform general cleaning tasks
  • Supervise minibar attendant and conduct inventory of minibar items
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
