Specifically, the Philadelphia Zoo in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Food & Beverage General Manager to oversee and lead their food and beverage operations. This position is a salaried role with eligibility for bonuses based on financial performance and operational goals. This role offers an excellent opportunity to manage and grow a multi-million dollar revenue food and beverage business within a dynamic venue.

As the Food & Beverage General Manager, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and directing multiple contracted services, including concessions, catering, and premium dining services. You will ensure that all services meet the operating and financial goals, client objectives, and high guest service standards. The role includes hands-on leadership and full accountability for executing food and beverage operations, catering, and special events at the venue. Reporting directly to Senior Leadership, you will lead a talented team of salaried direct reports who manage multiple units and concepts within the operation.

Successful candidates for this role are exceptional operational leaders with proven expertise in managing large venues or multi-unit operations. Your ability to build strong client relationships, demonstrate financial acumen, and leverage data-driven decision-making will be critical to success. You will lead a large team of culinary and operations managers in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Developing new business opportunities and revenue streams is a key focus, ensuring ongoing growth and profitability of the food and beverage services.

The role demands strong leadership skills to recruit, develop, and mentor new and existing managers. You will maintain compliance with Aramark's stringent operational standards, including safety guidelines and business conduct policies. Your strategic partnership with regional District Managers will help drive the business development strategy and optimize service delivery.

Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum of 5 years experience in large venue or multi-unit management
  • direct profit and loss responsibility experience
  • ability to lead a large team in a high volume environment
  • premium and concessions management experience preferred
  • physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing as required
  • compliance with safety standards and use of personal protective equipment (ppe) as necessary

Job Duties

  • full p&l responsibility in regard to food and beverage
  • manage the client relationship at the location, while providing hands on execution and leadership of operations
  • leadership of a large team of managers and workforce throughout multiple units and concepts
  • developing new concepts to increase existing revenue sources for public foods/concessions, premium service and catering outlets
  • partner with the regions District Manager to plan and execute business development strategy for growth
  • recruitment and development of new and existing managers
  • interact successfully with the client, venue guests and team members on a regular basis
  • ensures compliance with Aramark's standards of operation including safety standards and Aramark's Business Conduct Policy at all times
