A typical working day for a Food & Beverage Expert involves managing food deliveries, replenishment, product rotation, and maintaining inventory accuracy. They are responsible for upholding Target’s rigorous food safety standards, ensuring that all products meet quality standards, and identifying any damaged or recalled items. In addition to operational duties, the Food & Beverage Expert engages with customers to provide helpful information, promote products through sampling and suggestive selling, and create a welcoming atmosphere that reinforces Target’s guest-first philosophy.
This role requires adaptability and flexibility, with work schedules that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times. It suits individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy teamwork, and are committed to continuous learning and development. Target equips its Food & Beverage Experts with comprehensive training to ensure they are knowledgeable about food seasonality, pricing strategies, inventory management, and guest interaction techniques.
The hourly starting wage is $15.50 USD, reflecting Target’s commitment to fair pay and competitive compensation. The company also offers robust benefits supporting financial wellness, education, healthcare, and overall well-being. Target places a strong emphasis on safety, ethical conduct, and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, which are fundamental expectations across all roles.
