The Food & Beverage Director role at Fox Ridge Bryant is essential to the community’s commitment to delivering a high-quality culinary experience. This position holds overall responsibility for the daily operations of the culinary services department, ensuring that residents receive meals that are not only nutritious and safe but also appetizing and aligned with approved dietary standards. The director is also responsible for maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local sanitation regulations, overseeing the cleanliness and sanitation of all food preparation and service areas, and managing kitchen staff schedules and training to uphold the highest quality standards in food service. Beyond operational management, this role involves menu planning, financial oversight of food and supply budgets, and coordination of catering services for both community-wide events and private resident functions. The Food & Beverage Director plays a key role in supporting community sales efforts by providing tailored catering solutions and helps maintain positive relationships with administrative teams and vendors. Job Requirements

  • Degree in culinary arts preferred
  • 3 to 5 years previous experience in food production and management
  • Serve Safe certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • basic knowledge of food preparation procedures and health department regulations
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet tools

Job Qualifications

  • Degree in Culinary Arts preferred

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the overall financial and operational functions related to dining room service and culinary operations
  • creates and plans weekly menus for the IL communities and follows dietitian-approved menus for AL and MC communities
  • ensures compliance with federal, state, and local sanitation regulations
  • maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all work areas
  • conducts routine safety and sanitation inspections and communicates action items to leadership
  • demonstrates attention to detail with regard to food quality, presentation, and dining room environmental standards
  • develops and maintains food service quality, objectives, and standards
  • develops and maintains good working relationships with community administrative team members and networks with other communities
  • prepares all monthly food service reports
  • maintains food and supply expenses to budget or forecast
  • places orders for food and supplies through authorized vendors
  • completes physical food and supply inventories prior to ordering
  • plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs food and beverage service operations
  • makes reports and recommendations to the Executive Director concerning food service operations
  • maintains daily logs of temperature controls for food safety
  • assures that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe manner
  • supports community sales efforts with catering services for events and private resident affairs
  • follows all emergency and safety procedures
  • ensures a 72-hour emergency food and drinking water supply
  • exhibits enthusiasm for working with seniors
  • displays patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition
  • promotes the community and communicates community values
  • maintains confidentiality of resident care information
  • manages departmental staffing and labor costs
  • recruits, orients, trains, and evaluates culinary staff
