The role of Food and Beverage Director at Starr Pass Golf Club represents a significant leadership opportunity within a dynamic and customer-focused setting. The Food and Beverage Director will oversee all aspects of the food and beverage operations, ensuring seamless management of staff, budget, service quality, and day-to-day business activities. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the club’s dining experience through effective team leadership, strategic planning, and operational oversight.

Key responsibilities include managing hiring, training, and performance evaluation processes for various food and beverage personnel, ranging from servers and bartenders to banquet staff and building maintenance members. The Director will assist in preparing budgets, monitoring daily business levels, and coordinating communications with key departments such as Executive Chef, Beverage Manager, and Membership Office to ensure smooth operation. Additionally, the role involves conducting staff meetings, developing ongoing training programs, overseeing inventory control, and implementing safe work practices. Success in this role will be measured by achieving revenue goals, managing expenses, and generating comprehensive business reports to inform strategic decisions. This position demands strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to cultivate a positive and productive work culture. Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university
  • or four to six years related experience and/or training
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • knowledge hospitality POS system application, hardware, software and menu programing
  • experience in multi-faceted food and beverage operations

Job Duties

  • assists with interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates
  • addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • assists in the management of department members that may include, but is not limited to: servers, reservationist, runners, bartenders, hosts, banquet, building maintenance
  • assist with budget preparation in all food and beverage related areas
  • reviews current day’s business levels in all operations and assigns priorities as needed
  • relays pertinent information to key staff including, executive chef, beverage manager, dining manager, executive offices, concierge, and membership office as needed
  • assists general manager in monitoring success of food and beverage related departments and associates, including semi-annual performance reviews, as needed
  • conducts regular staff meetings with colleagues, subordinates and related parties
  • assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate
  • assists in developing ongoing training programs
  • prepares and monitors quarterly revenue goals and expenses as well as generating various (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual) business volume reports and forecasts
  • responsible for pre-approving, receiving and ultimate inventory control for all food and beverage related areas
  • incorporates safe work practices in job performance
