Job Description

Schofield Bowling Center, located at Schofield Barracks on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii, is a vibrant and well-established facility that serves the military community and their families. The position available is within the snack bar at Schofield Bowling Center and focuses on providing quality food service to patrons. The job entails preparing a variety of short order fast food items like hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, and French fries. As a Snack Bar Worker, you will be responsible for accepting food orders, serving alcoholic beverages to patrons who meet the age requirements, and handling cash transactions as a cashier. Attention to detail is critical as you will be required to spot check guest orders to ensure accuracy. Efficient inventory management is also part of the job, where you will order fast food items and condiments, take delivery of supplies, and ensure proper storage to maintain food quality and safety.

This position requires candidates to meet various employment conditions such as the ability to complete an employment verification (E-Verify), passing background checks, and completing food sanitation and safety training. Physical demands include lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and performing activities such as walking, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Safety precautions must be maintained at all times, considering the work may involve handling hot liquids, sharp blades, and working in temperature-controlled environments.

Employment at Schofield Bowling Center is offered under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system with overtime pay considerations and eligibility for Sunday and night shift premiums. This position is open to local candidates residing on the Island of Oahu, including military spouses and involuntarily separated military personnel under preference policies. Job Requirements

  • Direct deposit and social security card required
  • Meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements
  • May require one-year probationary period
  • Must satisfactorily complete employment verification (E-Verify)
  • May require Tier 1 background investigation for federal facility access
  • Completion of initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days and annual refresher training
  • Must meet age (21) requirements for serving alcohol
  • Certificate of Medical Examination required
  • Subject to pre-employment checks as per AR 215-3
  • Ability to perform light to heavy physical work
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to work in various physical positions including standing for long periods
  • May work on ladders and use power cleaning equipment
  • May be exposed to hot liquids, sharp cutting blades, and temperature extremes
  • May work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare short order fast food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, pizzas, French fries
  • Remove perishable foods from the freezer for daily activities
  • Clear and clean tables and work surfaces promptly
  • Clean walls, floors, equipment, and storage areas
  • Accept food orders from patrons and serve alcoholic beverages
  • Serve as cashier in the snack bar, receive payment by cash or charge
  • Complete cash reports at the end of shifts
  • Order fast food items, condiments, and supplies
  • Take delivery and ensure proper storage of supplies
