The Tasting Room Attendant at City Winery plays a vital role in enhancing guest experiences by delivering expert guided wine tastings and tours that illuminate the nuances of City Winery’s nationally recognized wines. This position involves direct engagement with guests, providing them with personalized service that blends education, hospitality, and sales. The Tasting Room Attendant welcomes guests warmly upon arrival and helps set up the tasting area to ensure every detail contributes to an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. Attendants are responsible for guiding guests through thoughtfully curated tasting sessions of rotating tap and bottled City Winery wines, conveying both the winemaking process and the distinct qualities of each vintage. In addition to hosting scheduled and spontaneous tours, the role requires upselling retail bottles and merchandise with a genuine enthusiasm that aligns with City Winery’s mission. Handling transactions with precision and maintaining operational standards are crucial components of the position. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in wine service or food and beverage environment
  • applicable state licensing for safe and responsible alcohol service
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to perform physical requirements of the role including standing and walking for entirety of shift, bending, pulling, pushing, using stairs, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • capacity to work independently and in a team

Job Duties

  • Greet guests upon entry to City Winery and tasting area
  • set up and breakdown tasting space each shift
  • provide guided tours, either scheduled or impromptu, and handle set up and breakdown of the tours
  • maintain working knowledge of rotating tap and bottled City Winery wines
  • guide guests through tasting experience
  • upsell retail bottles or merchandise when able
  • accurately handle cash transactions
  • perform all other reasonably assigned duties
