Job Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18
  • Previous experience in food and beverage or hospitality preferred
  • Basic math skills for handling payments

Job Duties

  • Follows all company policies and procedures such as attendance, timekeeping, dress code, name badge, appearance
  • Reviews daily bookings, function sheets, table reservations
  • Greets customers using their name where possible, offers menu, informs specials and menu changes, makes suggestions and answers questions
  • Effectively up sells menu items such as appetizers, desserts, mixed drinks, wine, coffee
  • Processes orders through ESP/check order system and serves as appropriate
  • Checks orders for completeness, quality, and presentation standards, serves courses at appropriate intervals, may package take-out orders
  • Serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as requested adhering to Weights and Measures compliance, uses appropriate glassware
  • Provides prompt service for all orders
  • Clears tables and bar as customers finish and suggests further sales
  • Totals bills, accepts payments, and processes through ESP system
  • Maintains and follows sanitation and cleaning procedures for glassware, equipment, storage areas, refrigerators
  • Keeps bar and restaurant area clean by mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, scrubbing sinks, wiping mirrors and counters
  • Completes side work including filling salt and pepper shakers, separating linen, stocking shelves, and daily tasks
  • Completes opening and closing procedures as per shift
  • Assists in training and development of new or less experienced co-workers
  • Complies with personnel policies and health and safety procedures
  • Undertakes any further duties requested by management
