As a prominent venue within its community, MPEC is dedicated to providing high-quality food and beverage service that complements the exciting events hosted at the facility. The center's staff are essential in maintaining the smooth operation of event services and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout every event.
The MPEC Food and Beverage Server position is a part-time role designed for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment. Scheduled on an as-needed basis, this position offers work at an hourly rate of approximately $15.51 and does not provide benefits due to its part-time nature. This role plays a crucial part in the cashiering and food service operations at MPEC events, combining customer interaction with the responsibility of handling food, beverages, and financial transactions.
Working under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager or their designee, the Food and Beverage Server is responsible for assuring excellent service standards during events. This includes taking food and beverage orders efficiently, serving alcoholic beverages responsibly, managing payments, and maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the service areas. Employees in this role must be capable of following detailed procedures and work independently while contributing positively to the team environment. The position also requires maintaining compliance with regulations such as holding a Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) license and a Food Handler's Card upon hire, underscoring the importance of responsible alcohol service and food safety.
Those employed as Food and Beverage Servers at MPEC are expected to possess knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and materials to assist in maintaining a safe and sanitary service area. Additionally, these individuals must have strong communication skills to provide accurate information to patrons and collaborate effectively with colleagues. Tasks are varied and include minor maintenance duties on the facility and equipment to ensure the event space remains optimal for public use.
This role is well-suited for individuals seeking flexible, part-time work who have a passion for customer service and a willingness to be hands-on in a supportive event staff team. While no prior experience is required, employees should demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and manage monetary transactions competently. Overall, the Food and Beverage Server position at MPEC offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a lively event center, interact with diverse crowds, and develop valuable skills in food service and retail operations.
