The role available at District Taco is centered around the Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) Team Members who act as the heartbeat of the restaurant. This position is designed for a motivated individual capable of managing uncertainty, pushing limits, and taking ownership of their environment. Team Members are responsible for creating positive customer interactions by maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness, and food handling. The company provides comprehensive training and development programs to ensure that every Team Member is confident and prepared to serve guests effectively. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting guests, assisting with menu inquiries, resolving customer service issues, maintaining cleanliness across various restaurant areas, handling shipments, and supporting fellow team members. This hands-on role requires physical stamina, a positive attitude, and strong interpersonal skills, all of which contribute to the welcoming and efficient atmosphere that District Taco is known for. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service preferred but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to perform all duties including lifting heavy items
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Must comply with all health regulations and safety standards
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and orders
Job Qualifications
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English
- Strong interpersonal/people skills
- High level of motivation and sense of self-responsibility
- Ability to apply and maintain standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills on an ongoing basis
- Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath
- Stand and/or walk for 8 consecutive hours
- Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body
- Coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is moving
- Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm
- Lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects for long periods without getting tired
- Lift 50lbs or more on a regular basis
- Work efficiently in a variety of hot or cold environments (e.g. refrigerated areas, close to cooking equipment, etc.)
- Work as quickly as certain tasks demand
Job Duties
- Greeting guests of District Taco and seeking out those who are waiting or need assistance
- Keeping a positive attitude and healthy enthusiasm for interactions with guests
- Assisting guests with the menu and alerting them to potential dietary conflicts
- Resolving customer service issues with the aid of your manager
- Answering restaurant phones and taking the occasional phone order
- Providing support to your fellow Team Members whenever needed
- Maintaining the cleanliness and care of our lobby, restrooms, and patios
- Organizing of storage areas and unpacking shipments to maintain proper rotation
- The washing of equipment and small-wares items
- Bringing food to customers/expo stuff
