The company prides itself on offering high-quality, fresh sushi and Japanese cuisine in a clean, modern, and inviting restaurant atmosphere. With many locations across the United States, Genki Sushi has built a reputation for excellent customer service, efficient operations, and a commitment to maintaining the highest sanitation and safety standards. The restaurant targets families, young professionals, and sushi enthusiasts who appreciate a blend of traditional flavors with modern dining convenience. Genki Sushi USA, Inc. continuously invests in staff training and development to ensure every team member grows within the company, contributing to the brand's success and customer satisfaction.
The Front of House Trainee (FOH-T) at Genki Sushi USA, Inc. is an entry-level position designed for individuals seeking to build foundational skills in the restaurant industry while working under the direction of the Senior and Store Managers. This role is ideal for candidates who are eager to learn a variety of front-of-house duties within a structured and supportive environment. The FOH-T position operates during a 90-day probationary period where the employee receives clear, detailed instructions and supervision intended to develop competence across all front-of-house stations, including serving, hosting, cashiering, and bar duties. The role requires the employee to consistently maintain dining room cleanliness, uphold company sanitation standards, and ensure customers enjoy an exceptional dining experience.
Employees in this position will be trained to follow all company policies and procedures carefully and are expected to attend all pre-and post-shift briefings and scheduled meetings. Strong communication with supervisors and managers is critical to promptly address any operational or customer service issues. The position demands a professional demeanor, calmness in handling customer complaints, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. In addition to operational responsibilities, the FOH-T must display organizational skills, the ability to promote menu items effectively, and physical readiness to work in a fast-paced environment involving standing, walking, lifting, and handling restaurant equipment.
Work hours typically range from 4 to 6 hours per shift with a minimum of 35 hours weekly, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs. Two of the three availability shifts must be weekend shifts to accommodate the busiest dining periods. This position is crucial for those who seek career advancement in the hospitality industry by gaining comprehensive front-of-house experience at a respected sushi restaurant chain. The FOH-T role at Genki Sushi offers a structured career path, hands-on learning, and the opportunity to contribute to a vibrant and customer-focused team.
