Job Requirements
- Must be California Food Handler certified and recertify every 3 years
- Must pass a functional capacity test prior to hire
- Must be able to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to lift and move supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must report to work timely and in uniform
- Must be willing to work variable hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must join labor union upon hire
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Successful completion of California Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire and recertification every 3 years
- Experience in food services and hospitality preferred
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen and dishwashing equipment
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work professionally with diverse populations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of food service areas including floors, walls, and worktables
- Receive, sort, wash, and restock trays, dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans
- Sweep and mop floors regularly and promptly clean spills
- Collect and dispose of trash from service and kitchen areas
- Clean back dock, trash bins and place wet floor signs as needed
- Maintain restroom cleanliness
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks
- Support setup and teardown of dining and banquet rooms
- Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff and visitors
- Follow HACCP guidelines and College policies for health and sanitation
- Participate in training sessions
- Perform special projects and assist with additional duties as assigned
