Job Requirements

Must be California Food Handler certified and recertify every 3 years
Must pass a functional capacity test prior to hire
Must be able to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to lift and move supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
Must report to work timely and in uniform
Must be willing to work variable hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
Must join labor union upon hire

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Successful completion of California Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire and recertification every 3 years
Experience in food services and hospitality preferred
Ability to operate and maintain kitchen and dishwashing equipment
Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to work professionally with diverse populations
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
Willingness to work a flexible schedule

Job Duties

Maintain cleanliness of food service areas including floors, walls, and worktables
Receive, sort, wash, and restock trays, dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans
Sweep and mop floors regularly and promptly clean spills
Collect and dispose of trash from service and kitchen areas
Clean back dock, trash bins and place wet floor signs as needed
Maintain restroom cleanliness
Assist with loading and unloading trucks
Support setup and teardown of dining and banquet rooms
Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff and visitors
Follow HACCP guidelines and College policies for health and sanitation
Participate in training sessions
Perform special projects and assist with additional duties as assigned
