Job Requirements
- Minimum of three years experience in 911 or critical care setting
- Current EMT-P license or certification in states served
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification before flight status
- Advanced FP-C certification within 24 months of hire
- Ability to maintain required licensure and certifications
- Ability to complete electronic patient care records in timely manner
- Commitment to high safety standards and teamwork
- Flexibility to fill open or vacant shifts as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Minimum EMT-P license/certification for states served by assigned area
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and trauma certification required before flight status
- Advanced Certification FP-C preferred and required within 24 months from date of hire
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
- NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area
- Minimum of three years experience in 911 or critical care setting
Job Duties
- Responsible for completion and submission of electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame
- Responsible for daily base checks, including narcotic count
- Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial patient contact until care is relinquished to accepting medical facility maintaining thorough patient care documentation
- Maintain competency in required knowledge and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences
- Maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures in Employee Education Manual
- Use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by emergency programs
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
- Function as a medical flight team member
- Attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings and complete necessary documentation
- Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot assistance such as radio, navigational, and visual observation activities
- Comply with safety standards to ensure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff
- Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed
- Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as required by Regional Director
