Job Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting
- current EMT-P license or certification in the states served
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status
- ability to maintain all required licensure and certifications
- ability to participate in ongoing training and clinical experiences
- readiness to comply with strict safety protocols
- willingness to fill open or vacant shifts as assigned
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting
- current EMT-P license or certification in the states served
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status
- advanced certification (FP-C) preferred and required within 24 months from date of hire
- instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
- NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area
Job Duties
- Complete and submit electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame
- perform daily base checks including narcotic count
- provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility
- maintain thorough patient care documentation
- participate in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences to maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills
- maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures
- operate and maintain all emergency program equipment and supplies
- maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
- function as a medical flight member during missions
- attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete necessary documentation
- assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot assistance including radio, navigational, and visual observation activities
- comply with safety standards for self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff
- conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed
- fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director
