Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting
  • current EMT-P license or certification in the states served
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status
  • ability to maintain all required licensure and certifications
  • ability to participate in ongoing training and clinical experiences
  • readiness to comply with strict safety protocols
  • willingness to fill open or vacant shifts as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting
  • current EMT-P license or certification in the states served
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status
  • advanced certification (FP-C) preferred and required within 24 months from date of hire
  • instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area

Job Duties

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame
  • perform daily base checks including narcotic count
  • provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility
  • maintain thorough patient care documentation
  • participate in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences to maintain competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills
  • maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures
  • operate and maintain all emergency program equipment and supplies
  • maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • function as a medical flight member during missions
  • attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete necessary documentation
  • assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot assistance including radio, navigational, and visual observation activities
  • comply with safety standards for self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff
  • conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed
  • fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as deemed appropriate by the Regional Director
