Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years experience in a 911 or critical care setting
  • current EMT-P license or certification
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • NRP certification
  • trauma certification
  • ability to maintain required certifications and continuing education
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • ability to work under pressure in emergency settings
  • willingness to fill open or vacant shifts as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Current EMT-P license or certification in the states served
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification prior to flight status
  • advanced certification FP-C preferred and required within 24 months from hire
  • instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
  • NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area

Job Duties

  • Complete and submit electronic patient care records within specified time frames
  • perform daily base checks including narcotic counts
  • provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care
  • maintain competency through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences
  • maintain documentation of required licensure, certifications, and continuing education
  • operate and maintain emergency equipment and supplies
  • maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
  • function as a medical flight team member
  • attend pre-mission briefings and debriefings and complete related documentation
  • assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot assistance such as radio, navigational, and visual observation activities
  • comply with safety standards to ensure the safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment
  • conduct aircraft safety briefings
  • fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as required
