Job Requirements
- Minimum of three years experience in a 911 or critical care setting
- Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by assigned area
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and trauma certification required prior to flight status
- Ability to complete electronic patient care records and documentation promptly
- Must comply with all safety standards and protocols
- Ability to work flexible hours including filling open shifts as needed
- Willingness to participate in ongoing education and competency maintenance
- Physical ability to perform all duties related to patient transport and care
Job Qualifications
- Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by assigned area
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- NRP certification
- Trauma certification required prior to flight status
- Advanced certification FP-C preferred and required within 24 months of hire
- Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred
- NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area
- Minimum of three years experience in a 911 or critical care setting
- Demonstrated ability to provide advanced pre-hospital and intra-hospital life support care
- Knowledgeable in use and maintenance of emergency medical equipment and supplies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Complete and submit electronic patient care record for each dispatched flight within specified time frame
- Conduct daily base checks including narcotic count
- Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital advanced life support care maintaining thorough patient care documentation
- Participate in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences to maintain competency
- Maintain documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and advanced procedures
- Use and routinely maintain all emergency program equipment and supplies
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
- Function as a medical flight team member
- Attend pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and complete necessary documentation
- Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklist and pilot assistance such as radio, navigational, and visual observation activities
- Comply with safety standards ensuring safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment prior to liftoff
- Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed
- Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as directed by Regional Director
