Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Aviation Science, Aeronautics, Aerospace, or Airport Management
- Three years of experience with aircraft avionics databases
- Knowledge of ARINC 424 Nav DB Standards
- Knowledge of Aeronautical Charting
- Experience with managing relational databases
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Job Qualifications

- Three years of experience with aircraft avionics databases
- Knowledge of ARINC 424 Navigation Database Standards
- Knowledge of Aeronautical Charting
- Experience managing relational databases
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview to meet job qualification
- Reliable and punctual attendance
- Pilot certificate preferred
- TERPS and/or PANS-OPS certification preferred
- Two years of experience with navigational databases preferred
- Experience with SQL preferred
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or JavaScript preferred
Job Duties
- Coordinate FMC navigation database management with the Technical Pilots to ensure all databases contain necessary content and coverage to support scheduled and non-scheduled operations
- Submit cyclical requests to multiple manufacturers and verify the compliance and accuracy of all requests
- Perform cyclical compare functions to verify the integrity of procedure types and operational functions using FMC databases
- Assist with procedure construction using TARGETS software
- Collaborate closely with Flight Operations, Dispatch, Tech Ops, and Regulatory to ensure compliance of navigation databases
- Manage Senior Staff Representative for aeronautical charting to synchronize navigation databases and charts
- Submit requests for each AIRAC cycle to maintain database coverage, perform reviews, quality control checks, audits, and respond to FSAP reports
- Issue Operational Alerts, Pilots Bulletins, and NOTAMS as needed
- Coordinate with multiple departments including Flight Standards, Network Planning, Dispatch, Safety, and Tech Ops
- Provide operational support outside normal working hours when required
- Manage tailored navigation data for EFBs, flight planning tools, and other applications
- Attend FOQA, SAT, Standards, Policies & Procedures, Regulatory and other meetings for compliance
- Represent United Airlines at industry symposia and contribute to FMS database standards work
