Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years of relevant full-time or part-time equivalent experience in aviation flight services or airport operations
  • valid driver’s license with ability to operate state vehicles
  • knowledge of FAA regulations and industry safety standards
  • ability to maintain logs and records accurately
  • competent in use of hand and power tools
  • ability to work in confined spaces, at varied heights, and in diverse weather conditions
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • capacity to work independently while escalating unusual issues
  • commitment to safety procedures and policies
  • passes pre-employment physical exam
  • subject to random drug testing
  • compliance with department policies and conduct standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years experience in aviation flight services, airport operations, or related field
  • knowledge of transportation services operations
  • familiarity with Federal Aviation Administration regulations and circulars
  • understanding of state and federal aviation agencies and programs
  • knowledge of aviation services programs
  • understanding of principles of aircraft operations and maintenance
  • proficiency with basic computer concepts
  • knowledge of preventive maintenance methods and aircraft service procedures
  • experience with inventory and stock control
  • knowledge of industry safety standards and hazardous materials management
  • understanding of accounting principles related to payment processes
  • ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • skilled in leading and monitoring work of others
  • ability to maintain safety standards
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • capacity to lift up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Assigns work duties for pilots, schedulers, and flight line personnel
  • coordinates pilot and aircraft schedules to ensure the most efficient use of resources
  • checks oxygen bottles and logs information
  • reports problems and/or replaces bottles as required
  • keeps abreast of current aviation and aircraft developments including industry guidelines, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • participates in program planning, development, and implementation
  • assists with the implementation and utilization of aviation flight services software for scheduling, maintenance tracking, pilot currency tracking, and billing
  • performs other job responsibilities as assigned
