Job Requirements
- Active state RN license
- minimum of three years recent experience in high-risk obstetrical or neonatal intensive care
- nationally certified within two years of hire
- current BLS, NRP, ACLS or PALS certifications
- successful completion of specialized flight nurse education program
- must pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity exam, drug screening, and background check
- must not exceed weight limit per PHI Health policy
- effective verbal communication skills
- preferred residence within one-hour drive or sixty miles from base
- ability to lift 100 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Active state RN license
- minimum of three years recent experience in high-risk obstetrical or neonatal intensive care in a tertiary center
- national certification in specialty areas (NCC - Obstetrical Nursing or Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing) within two years of hire
- current BLS, NRP, and ACLS or PALS certifications
- successful completion of respective Maternal or Neonatal Flight Nurse Education Program
- effective human relations skills for interfacing with all levels of personnel and contracts
- ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person and by radio
- preferred previous flight nurse experience
- preferred BSN degree
- certification as BLS, NRP, ACLS, or PALS instructor preferred
Job Duties
- Serve as the team leader on transports
- perform specialized assessments, diagnosis, therapies, and emergency treatment for high-risk maternal/fetal or neonatal patients transported by rotor wing, fixed-wing, and ground ambulance
- document accurate patient assessment and treatment information during stabilization and transport
- maintain accurate and complete billing documentation according to PHI Health policy
- facilitate effective and timely communication among PHI Health management, internal teams, and external customers
- participate in public relations and marketing activities to support PHI Health and regional bases
- maintain ongoing education and skill development through mandatory meetings, clinical rotations, and relevant seminars
- complete annual recurrent competency verification
- uphold an active state RN license and required certifications
- perform other job duties as applicable
