Job Requirements

  • Possess a valid full, active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
  • minimum experience with PHAs for flyers and special duty personnel
  • board certification in Aerospace Medicine
  • completed clinical internship and residency
  • knowledge of AFIs 48-123, 36-2905, and 10-203
  • ability to conduct medical profiling and duty restrictions as Profile Officer

Job Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
  • board certification in Aerospace Medicine
  • completed clinical internship and residency
  • fellowship training in aerospace medicine preferred
  • experience conducting PHAs and certification exams for military flyers
  • knowledge of military aeromedical standards and regulations
  • ability to apply medical fitness and profiling standards

Job Duties

  • Conduct periodic health assessments for flyers and special duty personnel
  • perform initial certification examinations for flying and special duty applicants
  • make aeromedical disposition decisions for flying and special operational duty personnel
  • carry out adaptability rating assessments for military special duty applicants
  • apply medical, fitness, and profiling standards in accordance with Air Force Instructions 48-123, 36-2905, and 10-203
  • act as Profile Officer managing profiling and duty restrictions
  • collaborate with military and healthcare teams to ensure operational readiness
